Thanks for checking you numbers SSGT Tanner. I don't think Lifan is part of Honda, but possibly Lifan uses old Honda designs that have expired patents.

Well it appears that your Vbikes that have the newer badges on the swingarm and say 229cc have the same model engine, 171FMM, as the ones that say 197cc. That is good to know. That confirms we all have at least a 229cc to 238cc engines in our Vbike V4S'. I guess that verifies that the older badges are mislabeled.

Do you know what parts are interchagable with the Honda engine? If so we could start compiling a list of parts that fit the Vbike 250 engine.

Careful, careful, those those Jet guys are sensitive when it comes to there ATVs being compared to others. Just kidding Kman, I think you correct about the Jet 250 engine and the Vbike engine being the same engine with the exception of the oil cooler and both being rebadged on the side covers. I can't imagine the Jet engine not being a Lifan, Jetmoto does have quality China products.

Thats good split, after the info SSGT Tanner provided I am 100% confident that we all have an engine that is larger than 197cc.

Here is a photo of a Jetmoto 250 engine. Sure looks the same. I am almost positive it's the same engine. I just checked Jetmoto's web site parts department and they list the clutch assembly for it as a Lifan 250 clutch kit.

Very interesting. I just wonder which Honda engine I need to tell the Honda shop I need parts for. Hmmm, I looked up the Honda CG250 but didn't come up with anything.

I wonder if the Lifan rep you talked to could tell you which Honda engine.
