I could use a little help as the V-Bike manual is useless. I just got a new v4s for my son. The front brakes aren't working right, is there a pad adjustment similar to a snowmobiles or do I need to re-bleed the system. When the hand lever is pulled it is activating the caliper.

OK, the bike is all set: changed oil, bled brakes, got electrical all squared away.
One last question: I've always had shaft driven quads, so is the chain self lubricating on this bike or do I need to lube. On the right side of the engine is a chromed slotted screw, which appears to be an oil filler? Is this for the chain case or is this part of the normal oil system.
What chain oil should I use.

Hi again nuffer, the chain needs to be lubricated with any good chain lube from a spray can. Don't be supprised if the chain starts to stretch after a little use.
To tighten the chain in the future loosen the two large bolts that clamp the rear axle carrier then rotate the hole carrier forward to take the slack up. The carrier is offset so thats why you rotate it forward to tighten and backwards to loosen.
If I am thinking of the same chrome piece you are talking about, that would be an oil filter screen behind that large chrome plug down behind the shifter on the left side of the engine as you sit on the ATV. It's a good idea to clean that screen out every couple of oil changes.
The only other chrome plug that has a slot in it is also on the left side of the engine on top of the side cover that is about 3/4" in diameter. This plug is for timing the engine.
