Vbike 250 v4s

Hey Split, first off you da man on those videos. Great jumps and doughnuts in the snow and mud. The Vbike sounds and looks great. I wish I could find the time.
Anyway I had the same question about my Vbikes info on the swingarm badge. Mine also says 197cc. I called Tim at Vbike a week or two ago and he told me the same thing you were told about the frame being used for both the 250 and 200cc ATVs. I two question why they would badge it a 197cc and sell it as a 250. why not not badge it properly. The 08 Vbike that belongs to my brother-inlaw isn't at my house. I will look at it's badge as soon as I can.

lol thanks man i love to ride no matter what it is....please no one get me wrong i think for the money it cant really be beat for fun for $$ value.......its just the principal of not being ripped of for not getting what i paid for if this is the case...the only way we can really be sure is to messure a few things on say ssgttanner's machine as we know that is a 229cc and compair it to ours that are badged 197cc....what do you think as if i ring tim i am only gonna get the same answer from him....if the numbers balance up then we can all be happy and just understand that its a simple badging error, but if not we will know due to the size differance between the 2 bikes

Just my opinion but I think the fans are more for show then function.I wouldnt put too much stock in them.</end quote></div>
Well I dont know about the V4s Vbike but my utility has two fans in front of the engine and on warm days like we have had in the 70's and riding for a while I can really feel the heat come off the engine at low speeds where there isnt enough force to get air in the engine. But then the engine on the utility is covered more than the racing style Vbikes too that might make a difference

Does it not somewhere have the true displacement (CC) embossed on the motor >cylinder< on a flat?
I have never owned a Chinese quad but anything I have ever owned since 1969 which has been Japanese has had the CC displacement somewhere on the motor cylinder .

My plate reads 197cc on my 07.I couldn't find anything on the motor. My hibird duel sport is stamped 250 cc on the front of the cylinder head.
There is a place in the same spot on the vbike but its not stamped.
Thanks split,for the great vids....

The engine has a flat area on the lower left of the engine by the gear shifter. If I remember correctly mine says 171FMM#####. I have been reading some old posts on Thumper Talk about the Lifan 200cc engine which the actual displacement is 197cc. That engine has a bore and stroke of 63.5mm- X 62.2mm respectivley. The engines model number is FML163####.
From what I understand the model numbers second and third digit numbers are the bore of the engine. That being said, the Vbike 250 engine apears to have a bore of about 71mm give or take .5mm. The bore X the stroke equals the displacment. I just do not know the stroke.
The above information is just from what I have read, nothing concrete. Just a step in the direction of solving this "stinking badge" issue.
Sorry, they say the first thing to go is the mind, hence I remembered wrong. I thought it said 177 but it actually said 171. I changed the numbers above.

Hello those chrome pieces are for the brush gaurds the rattle you hear is probably the new gas caps i noticed the one on my daughters rattling the other day but yes for the money i,m very pleased with them the only problem ive had was the air filter get wet very easy I emailed tim and ask if the could design a splash gaurd that you could just put around the air cleaner and cover the bottom half but other that that we really like our i still want to get a 300 thunder this summer

no the rattle ended up being the exhaust sheld,as for gas caps....well i took mine off today and boy did i have some muddy water in the surounding area"under" the fuel cap....basically where it sits....mud must have got into the tank so thats this weeks job, so when doing that i'll put rubber bushes onto the bolts to limit the vibs it goes through and maybe a better quality cap is needed.i have the new locking cap.....cant quite understand the need for a locking cap on this as thats just something else to clog up with mud
