Default Mini's in the snow

Anyone having thier kids use the mini 4 wheelers in the snow? I thought ours would be better in the snow than it is. Not much clearance I guess. Tire tread isn't real deep either, which the lawn appreciates. I spent more time getting him unstuck than anything.

Yeah Mini ATVs are useless in the snow...... fact is most 2wd ATVs are basically useless in the snow...... Anything more than 2-3" and my z400 is parked for the winter.....

Default Mini's in the snow

I drive my old 1985 honda 250 more in the winter than in the summer. Once the trail is hard packed a bit ATV's are fun to drive on them. As for the smaller atv's they go not bad in 4 inches of snow. We have a jet 150 and it was not very good (useless) in snow till I replaced the rear tires. The stock ones were made out of a harder rubber that maybe fine in a hot climate on a dirt track but up here in the winter they were like a rock. Now the jet will go anywhere my 250 Honda will go somtimes ever better!. The tires on it now a a bit bigger so it has more clearance and a bit more top end. The rubber is nice and soft at any temperature so the ride is nicer too.

We have a little 110cc and a 90cc quad also and the 110 has a kind of tire that is not suited for snow, the 90 though smaller has a better snow tire. My boy is bugging to put the same tires on his 110 that the jet moto has!

Nice tire upgrade. My son has worn his first set out on his 150 and wants that "hole shot" look. Keeping with the spirit of being a cheapskate, what's the scoop on options you looked at for upgrading the tires? I'm on the west coast so any US contacts would be great.

Happy New Year!

I'll have to go out and get the specs. We also upgraded the head light as the stock one is well "ok" but not great. I'll take a picture of that too...

Hey I have my old jet tires...on rims still that are new! When we were looking for tires I could have gone with the ones you speak of in the same brand as the ones I got. But like I mentioned we were looking for something a little bigger to give more clearance etc.
