Thinking about a Chinese Quad (or a few of them)
#11
I think I might regret it if I don't get 4x4. I'm really not sure. My Dads are both 4x4 and we use them a little in the winter up there. I'm really not sure how much I"d use these in winter or not. Other than the atv I listed above (which I just called on and is sold) I can't find anything for under 2k near me. Nothing

When breaking a snowing trail you need a 4x4 once the snow gets more than say 8" deep. Last winter I broke trail on the 4x4 and my boys on the 150cc jetmoto followed me all over the place.
For just trail riding in the winter on hard packed snow or trails in the bush that have been driven on already you can get by with a 2 wheel drive no problem.

Darnit. Found a Suzuki 250 and a honda 250 by same owner. Says they run great and in good shape. I'm out of town for the holiday weekend but he only wants $1400 for the pair. Doubt they'll be there on Monday but I'll check I guess!
Talked to the wife about these this morning and she agreed, she didn't see much winter riding in our future, which would definetely require 4wd. So we might more seriously consider a 2wd bike.
Anybody know anything about those Chinese UTVs? I think the UTV is really neat. Might consider one of those and one Adult ATV.

Jrandol, as far as the two wheel drive models go I have not needed 4wd yet. Of course I don't ride much in the winter. If you did you could get some chains for the rear wheels for about $40.
You would be amazed at what you can go through with two wheel drive positive axle traction. Heck for the money you can save buying the two wheel drives you can buy a Gorilla winch for $100 bucks each for extra insurance. Just food for thought.
Heck if I could afford 4wd I would buy them but I just couldn't justify the extra cost.
