Have you checked craigslist in your area for one that maybe wrecked?

I did here and didn't find anything, but you never know. Maybe for 100 bucks you could find a wrecked one and have a few extra parts as well.

Ok here's the latest I'm looking for a muffler seal, two new exhaust studs, and a new hhead assy. gasket ( not damagged I just thought that I needed a new one) the maching shop said that this was not a big prob. could have me fixed up in a matter of minutes. just need the seal and studs to double check the fit and the alighnment of the holes. (check twice and drill once)
does anyone know A LEGITIMATE PLACE where to order TAOTAO parts from. I mean not going by the web site because all places say they got parts I'm talking TRIED AND TRUE don't have weeks to wait on a part that I bought tommorrow (thursday 10-21-09) If you have tried them and they are legit LET ME KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS A CHRISTMAS GIFT AND i MUST HAVE IT READY

one last thing I took the head off and to get to the last two bolts I had to loosen what I guess were the rocker arms and the push rods fell down into the motor now I know that I have to get them back into their seated position so they can stick back up through the head assy. If I have to I will take the cyl. sleeve off and do it but can I use a magnet to fish out the rods and a flashlight to see where they are supposed to be seated ( I don't want to take anything else apart if I don't have to.)

I tired to keep anything from falling but you know how thAt goes it looks like if I don't try to start it that I can lift the rods put them back into the proper position sit the head back and start putting bolts back in. I called motopartsmax.com and the mech. said there was no torque specs. is this true HELP !!!!!!!!HELP!!!!!!!!HELP!!!!!!!!

TDC stands for Top Dead Center. That is when the piston is at the topmost point in either the compression or combustion stroke. It is used to set the timing on your machine. There will also be a TDC marker on your flywheel, usually indicated by a T.

thank you and here's an update I did not touch the timing chain, cam shaft, or crank
nor the cyl. sleeve or piston only the cover, rocker arms (blocking the head bolts) and the head. the push rods fell off the lifters and into the engine, but I believe I can fish it out with a magnet so I don't have to take anything else apart.

And I know not to turn that engine at all ( ANY THING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW ) before I try to put it back together. and do you know about any true parts sources if not I'm going to tell the shop guy to drill out and thread it to any size stud as long as I can find a stud to go in it.

Since the cam is connected to the crank inside the engine you dont have anything to worry about...now if it was a overhead cam engine...youed get to learn even more about engines!! j/k

Parts sources are getting real tough to come by these days....One of the things we all worried about 4-5 yrs ago when all the Chinese Excitement started...

I know what you mean. I have been looking in alot of threads and the no. one ? is parts. do you know or anybody know if there is a confirmed place that someone has been able to get parts? maybe a sponsor? that would be sweet. OH!!!! and I'm going to put the push rods back on top of the lifters after putting the head back on and seat the rocker arms back on and bolt it down then check to make sure they are not too tight before I put the cover back on.
THaNK YOU !!!!!!!!! THK U THK U THK U THK U

AND by the way there is a whole lot I have to learn already oil is there two kinds one for engine and one for clutch or just one for all, antifreeze is a 50/50 mix ok, water pump should I change it, oil filter does it have one should I change it, thrmostat where to get one so I can change it, torque specs is it true that they don't have any

I've ordered parts from here before. They are a Parts Unlimited dealer and will work with you if they don't carry the exact machine you have. I've taken pics of my part and had them match it up.
Good luck with the parts. Some you will definitely have trouble coming up with.
