Default Chinese eagle 250 wont start please help

Working on the 250 and I rebuilt the starter and it works fine. After I put the starter back in it wont crank over... I have full charge on battery and im stepping on the brake and im starting it in nut. There is no problem with starter or solonide but something in gearbox? please help...

I might need some more info but it could be hydrolocked. Pull the spark plug out and cover the hole with a rag and try to spin it over ....fuel could have it locked up or water or oil but most likely fuel. If i understood your complaint. If not just give some more info.

Thanks, i will try that tom. I called it a gear box box im not a mechanic. I think it is the crank case? Whatever the the starter gear is trying to turn over is what is not turning...

Welcome to the forum aitpp!

Did you pull the plug and try it again?

Ok... I pulled the plug but same problem. When I remove the starter housing cover and remove the small secondary gear the starter spins just fine. The problem is in the large gear that the starter needs to be turning as i can see so far. Sorry... I dont know what that gear is called

I need a bit of history...Is this new? did you buy it new or used? Did the starter just die or did you buy it that way? has the quad ever run since youve had it?

Try shifting the quad into gear and see if the quad will move...keep the spark plug out..

Im wondering if the engine is locked up?

The quad will move in gear with clutch held in. I tried rolling it and popping the clutch to get it started but that does not work either... you think maybe it is a bad crank shaft?
