its me again. I was watching a few videos on how to check or test an atv coil with a multimeter. But i dont have one.. Is there any way to test a ignition coil without a multimeter?

 

A 5 buck meter from Harbor Freight,Northern tools would be good enough. Should be a small resistance reading from the coil tab (where wire from the cdi hooks to the coil) to ground such as .3 for example. Secondary(end of plug wire back to tab) should show around 6k ohms,at least a lot of coil do. Plus pull the plug cap off and check for spark with the bare wire again the cylinder. Could be as simple as a faulty plug cap.
