Crank case
#1
does anyone know what kind of oil is run through the crank case where the chain is at in the engine. Is it fed from the motor oil? Only reason I ask is because I noticed a slight leak around the crank case cover and am assuming the gasket is going bad. I found a gasket kit for the hole engine and was going to replace all the gaskets throughout the engine but i didn't want to go pulling covers if I have to order the oil! So if someone could answer my question I'd appreciate it! Thanks!!

Depends on the make/model you have. 90% of four strokes have the sump oil running through the gearbox but some GY6 clones don't, and there are probably others too. Two strokes don't have engine oil in the crankcase, so have a separate gearbox filled with oil. Seems like an awful lot of work for "a slight leak around the crank case cover" so be very sure where it is coming from before stripping the whole engine down.
