I just picked up a basket case of a ATV for my kids. I was just fixing the obvious loose bolts, cleaning things up and was going to clean the carb and noticed the choke plate was broken and the rod was missing pieces so i got a new carb but i wanted to see if i had spark and i had none. I did the research through the Googles and YouTube and traced it down to a bad exciter coil in the stator. (I hope,but just to be sure the parking brake just needs to be set on the handlebars correct?) The rear foot brake doesn't need to be applied. So i ordered the whole wiring kit with the components to be cost effective. I'm going to roll with the old harness for now unless i have to but i want to remove the remote safety shut off and also the rear tether. Can i just unplug both of those? Id also like to remove the wires that are spliced into the harness if that's possible. Any help will be appreciated
