Ignition coil wiring
#14
Also to make a note my test light tests positive and negative. When I hooked everything up I wasn't getting spark. Checked the boot and it was sending a ground. I had to switch the wires on the new coil even though I hooked positive to + and negative to - to begin with. I hope this helps someone else out.

Now you have it running, check the voltage at the battery. An overcharging reg can blow an ignitor, so always make sure that wasn't the cause of the last one's demise.
Wonder why the ignitor maker confuses everything by calling 1, 3 and 8 pins all "ground", the trigger hasn't a + and - anyway as it is AC, though which it produces first, as the flywheel pip passes it, may be important.
