Hi, does any body have an idea which yellow wire goes where.

the stator that came with the new harness has x2 yellow wires but the loom connection for the stator is x1 yellow & x1 white.

both white and yellow run to the rectifier. Both yellow look as tho they are on the same coil. Does it matter which yellow wire connects to the white wire?.

 

Regulators with the white wire are three phase, the earth provides the other phase to it. I would guess your stator is single phase. Check if the yellow wires are connected to the stator green wire, if they are, it is three phase. Whether having a single phase stator makes any difference I don't know. It would work, but a single phase regulator may be happier being fed single phase than the three phase one you have got. Won't matter which yellow is connected to the white.
