Troubleshooting coolster 125CC start
#1
My daughters coolster died and wouldn't crank when using the button. The green neutral light is lit, and when you push the button it goes out but no crank. Also no headlights with the key on. The battery tested good. I jumped across the starter solenoid with a screwdriver and got it to fire. What else can I check to figure out why you can't push button start it?

I would guess at a high resistance in the wire from battery to main fuse, to ignition switch. Or from ignition switch to everything requiring power, Can also be on the negative side, a bad earth between battery and frame. The ignition switch itself can also be the culprit, wiggle the switch a bit, it may contact better. On some bikes the lights only work with engine running, I worked on a Breeze yesterday and it is this type. However, if they used to work without needing the engine, switching them and ignition on, then checking all connections in the positive wires to and from ignition switch, will pinpoint the fault, if the lights start working.
