Maybe wiring, maybe something else, 110 Tao Tao
#1
My kids 110 Tao Tao starts with electric start sometimes, and works great for a little while, but might cut off and then it will only start by jump starting because it’s killing the battery for some reason, but evening with a battery boaster pack it still won’t start by electric start and when you jump start it still seems to not work for very long before it keeps cutting off.
I’ve have ordered and installed some of the wiring harness ( solenoid, right to the plug cap) and new carb and air filter.
head lights don’t work also.
anyone else have a idea what else to order and replace?

the first thing to do is get it starting better. Try a new plug, if that doesn't work, check compression. If below 90psi, check valve clearances, if they are too small compression will be down. If compression is OK, clean the carb out. No altering settings, just remove float bowl and jets and clean them and the holes they came from, out with compressed air. If it is still bad to start, you may have an ignition problem. Do the tests in the help diagnose stator "sticky" in the Chinese engines section of the forum.
