Default Tao Tao 110 rebuild issue

I just replaced all the gaskets on my Tao tao because we had a few oil leaks. Now when ib try b to start the gas is csoraying out of the filter on the carberstur. I removed the air filter and put my hand over it and it is now blowing out instead of sucking it. What did I do? Now it wobtv start at all. The engine cranks the plug has spark. But that is it. Any ideas?

These single cylinder engines always blow fuel out a bit, you just don't notice until there is a problem and you remove the air filter. However excessive blow back can be the valve timing not set right, or no valve clearance on the inlet. If timing is too far out it will have bent the valves too. Set everything up correctly and then check compression, low or no compression would indicate you have bent a valve.
