Hey i recently bought a chinese quad that has a lifan 200cc water cooled engine and i'm having some issues. the wiring harness was shot and i couldn't find an exact replacement with the 3 yellow wires for the stator and 2 for the pickup so i ordered a generic chinese quad harness with stator. the old stator was a 12 pole stator while the new is a 8 pole but they swapped perfectly. i also replaced the carby. now i managed to get it to run and idle but at idle every now and again it sounds like it skips a beat and when i go on throttle it bogs down and dies, i've tried adjusting the carby but it hasn't helped much. any idea on what might cause my issues?

Check the charge rate at the battery in case it is simply overcharging due to a faulty regulator, but 200cc engines are quite rare so I doubt if anyone will make a "universal" harness for it, and a stator for a Honda "Cub," "Minarelli" two stoke or GY6 clone, is unlikely to work properly, I'm quite surprised that a stator meant for a different engine would work at all.
