lock gearbox in forward only

Welded shift fork together lasted a few hours on mud trail till breaking again. If I open up the gearbox and remove the gears inside, will it be forward only?

No, for that you need some way of holding the selector dog in the forward gear position.

I shift to neutral while driving after car washes - to dry my rotors as I slam on the brakes. It will not let you shift into Reverse while moving forward there is an interlock.
