Common problem on these shift boxes as they get older. Loosen the 10 mm lock nut on each linkage ball end at the shift box. Remove the 10mm nuts holding the linkage ends to the shift box levers, then remove the linkage rods from the shift box slide levers. Pop the shift lever into neutral. You can use vice grips to move the bellcrank on the transmission to neutral. Once the shift box and transmission is in neutral, turn the adjusters to where they drop straight in the shift box slide levers with NO resistance. Replace the 10mm nuts and then tighten the linkage ball end lock nuts. This may help for awhile. Once the shift box lever and internal parts start to wear and has a lot of slack, you can have this happen to where it sticks in one gear. I've had to do this dozens of times and on some that were really worn,I just had to replace the entire shift box. Hopefully adjusting the linkage is all you need to do. OPT
