Charlie,

We had a great trip home, it rained on us most of the way but it wasnt too bad in the truck. We got to do some fishing as well so that was a serious bonus. We met some people from Talequah who were staying at Tincup.

I liked the Buena Vista area better and Keith preferred the Ouray/Silverton area so we each found a place that we liked. Did you by any chance make it over to Mesa Verde and see the Cliff Dwellings? Those were pretty neat in their own right.

Bob,
went to mesa verde back in the 80's. back then you could climb down the ladders and all over the ruins. heard it has changed.

where did you fish? I want to take my tackle next time.

Charlie,

You can still go into the Mesa Verde rooms via ladder if you choose but you are somewhat supervised by the Park Ranger who conducts the guided tour.

As far as fishing goes we fished at Molas Lake just outside of Silverton, we fished at Chalk Lake which is near St. Elmo and we fished at Mirror Lake that is just outside Tincup. We didn't make it over to Taylor Lake but if we had...I am sure we would have fished there. I did best on salmon eggs...Keith did better on inline spinners.

Bob forgot to mention that we were assailed by outlaws too. We were outright robbed by the service department at Suzuki Fun Center in Durango.

Bob needed to rejet so we called them to see what it would cost. I talked to "Matt" in their service department and he said that he would rejet Bob's twin for $60, and since my Big Bear has a single carb, he'd do mine for $30. I didn't really need it. The Big Bear ran ok after I took the airbox cover off, but for $30 I figured I couldn't go wrong. He set us up an appointment for 9 AM the following morning.

So, we left Ouray at 7AM the following morning to make the 2 hour drive to durango. (Mountain roads and all). We got there and dropped the bikes off. We were told that it would take about 1 1/2 hours, so we went to the local wal-mart to get our fishing licenses and do some shopping.

When we returned to the Suzuki Fun Center, the scooters were ready, but the bill was over twice as much as we'd been quoted. My bill was $75. Bob's bill was the same because, for some reason, they only needed to rejet one of his twin carbs. I'm no mechanic so I don't know. When I asked why the bill was so much more than we were told it would be, Matt said that the work had taken almost an hour and that the minumum service charge was 1 hour @ $60 per hour.

If that was the case, why did he quote me the $30 price to begin with? It was simply an out and out lie. This seems to be the way that they do business. Take this as a warning and avoid doing business with these crooks at all costs. Besides over-charging us, they didn't solve the problems. We still had to remove the airbox covers and bob's twin still didnt have the power he should have. There is another shop in Durango that I'm told is trustworthy. It's a Yamaha dealer and if you're ever in Durango, CO. and need service, I have to recommend that you avoid Suzuki Fun Center at all costs.

prague is north of shawnee and a little east. it is 60 miles from moore and it would be great to have another 4x4 there as there are some muddy spots. if you want we could meet somewhere and you could follow me the rest of the way there. let me know if ur intrested. that also goes for anybody else of course.
