Jim, they have already made it to where if you purchase a ATV you have to register it, I'm telling you they are milking us! lol, however, I did pay the 11 dollars to have mine registered, just so that if someone steals it they cant sell it

Jimmy,
Coming from the Law Enforcement side of the inspection thing, I think there needs to be inspections yearly. Since the inspection sticker disappeared several years ago, People think they don't have to keep their cars safe anymore. I have seen people driving with their windshields SHATTERED and get offended and borderline pissy when you stop them and tell them to get it fixed (Verbal Warning) and completely blow a gasket if you actually write a ticket. Since there is no mandatory inspection, People forget. On a different note, I do disagree with the depth the inspections were SUPPOSED to be performed. I think raising the vehicle on a rack and going over the entire exhaust system was a bit much, but a 5 minute "does all of your equipment work and is your vehicle SAFE to operate?" inspection would be nice. The reason that the inspections were done away with is the inspection stations were required to COMPLETELY inspect the vehicle from the rooter to the tooter and the inspection (if done right) would take approximately 15-20 minutes. The inspection station would receive 3 or 4 dollars for the inspection and it took more than that in minimum wage labor to do the inspection. If the station was found to be doing less than perfect inspections, they were subject to fine and loss of status as an inspection station.
In closing, I personally would pay $20-$30 yearly for the piece of mind that there are far fewer junk heaps running the roads that my children use, but I have seen firsthand the vehicles that aren't fit for hauling cubes to the cows in the pasture driving down the highway.

I have noticed that Jason.... When you speak, everyone has to quit laughing so hard so they can compose a proper response. This takes a while. I check this forum from time to time, but none of us have posted a whole lot during the last 6 months. I guess everyone is too busy.
