Blue,
I agree with what you are saying about how sandrat dosent upgrade there camp..But I like staying there because it is off the main drag... Ive stayed at the north campgrounds once and I couldnt sleep at all with all the traffic coming and going all night.. Even though I dont get much sleep because Im out riding all night too.. When I do wanted to sleep I couldnt...Where as at sandrat you can get in the middle of the campgrounds and you cant really hear the traffic at all.. Thats the only reason I like the sand rat.. And its easy to get to the store through the campgrounds..

Spudss,
I know what you mean about the noise. I have had trouble sleeping sometimes but, not as bad in cowboy camp. It has to be ten times worse on the two maor weekends. We don't go on those two big ones, we have had close calls on Memorial and Labor Day weekend. Just to many people for the size of riding area.

Please don't take this wrong but, it really bothers me when people get on internet boards and bad mouth the rangers. I have seen them in lots of different situtions and then later read about people complaining about them for arrestting someone that had been riding drunk, driving 40+ mph through camps, indesent exposure or having illegal substances. I know one thing I don't want there low paying job.

Just my two cents in case anyone cares.

Anyone going to try ride today? Its supposed to be almost 50 out!

Also, does anyone ever ride in th OCCRA races? I'm thinking about trying to ride in some this year, and I saw that they start at the end of this month.

Ronnie,
I personally have NEVER had a problem with ANY RANGER...But 2 guys I went to sand fest with both got tickets for absolutly stupid reasons one missed his turn so he did a u turn real qiuck and three rangers were on him that quick and gave him a reckless driving ticket...then the second was going north of the north camp on the black top and people were throwing water in the road and everyone was doing burn outs my buddie was at the wrong place at the wrong time he passes the guy doing a burn out and got a reckless driving ticket.. I know rangers have a hard job and IM NOT ******* THEM ON THE INTERNET AT ALL... But those tickets were a little outragous...But hay I guess thoughs are the rules...I personaly have never had a problem with one, they've all been pretty nice the ones i've talked to

Shane,
Ya im starting to get the hang of working with it....I have one ? is the topo map built in with the street map... the farther you zoom in the streets start appering.. I took it to tulsa with me and tracked everywere I went then came home and down loaded it on the pc.. It was pretty COOL.. Hopfully I will be takeing a trip to OKC there is a guy down there with an 01 400 for $2500 And I'd like to have it.. Then I will strap the gps to the quad and ride!!!

Spudss,
If you have topo maps loaded it will show streets also. There should be an option in your gps menus somwhere that allows you to choose the amount of map detail that you want to show on the gps. This will dictate how far in you will have to zoom in before the contour lines start to show up, if at all. Does that answer the ?, I think that is what you are talking about.

Shane,
Ya that and on the mapsend software.. But I fogot you have a Garmin... I am still trying to figure out how to use all the features of the GPS..That info will help.. I guess I will have to take a trip to somewhere in the hills to test out some of the features... I did take a trip and downloaded the tracks to the pc that was cool how it tracks it even shows how you used the on and off ramps for the HWY... Im getting better..
