What current quads are the closest to being a true 4x4 drive system? (Rather than 3x4) (Like a jeep compared to a subaru.) List as many as you can think of and it doesn't matter if they are fulltime or not.
I'm trying to decide if I should buy a sport or a 4x4. The 4x4 would be more useful year round but I would like a true 4x4. (Kinda do prefer selectable but if it's a fulltime Honda I can buy the 424 by Warn) Rancher 350 4x4 comes to mind.

Kawi 650, 360. Grizz 660, Koadiak 450 and most of the sportsmans I think have a true 4x4 opion. The yami and kawi have a mechanical locking front diffs. whereas the polaris have an auto locking front diff once the tires start to slip.

Isnt positraction also known as a limited slip. The ultmate differential is a detriot locker system. It uses flyweights and a clutch system to actually detect and totally stop slippage in a differential. Most front diffs use a spring loaded clutch pack that allows traction to both wheels until a certain amount of torque is exceeded then the wheel with the least amount of traction starts spinning. The best system would be an electrically actuated locker that the driver could use when needed. I think some systems are out there for wheelers already but I dont know which.
