Has anyone ever grooved turftamers, cutting of some ***** for for better cleaning in mud?

they are 20/11/8 and work well with the sprocket ratios i have. I plan on getting blackwater 20's for snow, but would like to groove the turfs for occasional summer mud(no big boggs but sometimes the trails get muddy)

I know the gncc racers used to groove the turfs years ago, I just don't know the pattern.

I do have a grooving iron we use on our dirt track race car.
