Default Help with final details on tires for my Prairie 650

I would like to buy new tires for my 650. I'm not sure what size to get though. I will be most likely going with the C series Rims and Mudlights (would like the radial outlaws but so much $$$). What is the largest size I can handle? Is there a benefit to keeping the front tires smaller than the rear like stock has them? Front tire size is 25x8x12 and the rears are 25x10x12. Which sizes should I go with? I'm also considering a lift kit but have read recently that they can cause cv problems. Is this true? Help me please!!!!.

Go with 26in tall by stock rim size and width front and rear. Yes, lift kits to cause more strain and so do bigger tires, but if u maintain your quad well, u shouldn't have a problem. If you wanted to go with 27in tall tires you could, but u would have to go with a lift, and i would recomennd getting some more power to those tires (I.E. supertrapp IDSX or IDSX2 ehaust, k&N filtercharger and jet kit).

Depending on your riding conditions you could handle 28" tires, but you would lose alot of power. I would highly recommend 27" Mudbugs, they are one of the lightest 27' tires. They ride good on hardpack and clean out pretty good in mud. And narrower tires up front keeps steering alot easier.

About a lift, I know of alot of people lifting their Praires. And no problems what so ever, but you have to be careful if you run a lift and big tires there is alot more strain on your bike.

Let us know what you ride in(trails, mud, water)

The Goodyear Rawhide comes in the exact size as your stock tires. They are great in the mud and very smooth on the trails. The MudLite is another excellent replacement tire.

I agree the Mudbugs would be a great tire for you. They ride the same as the mudlites and they clean out even better in the mud. And the tread life on the Bugs are awesome, Just my .02.

Another choice are the Gators, a little cheaper than the bugs and they do as good in the mud(similar tread)

i am very happy with my mudlites. the price was the best and the tires are beefy. awesome in the mud and the trails. i too went with the c-series. looks awesome. look here for great prices on mudlite/c-series combo. check my signature for the size and for some pics too. good luck with whatever you choose.
