Default wheelies bad?

for my Z250 I put it in first and nail the gas with my foot on the grab bar. I used to do the rev it up and pop it in gear thing, but then my dad had a bird saying I would blow the tranny. I can't get very far in 1st gear, but I guess its better than blowing the thing up.

If u give it to much gas and flip it u gonna damage alot right.....or mostly just the grab bar or is it kinda hard to get it to flip?

I've never flipped mine doing a wheelie. The grab bar should keep your from going over backwards. I stood mine straight up 3 times and the grab bar kept it from going over with no problem.

Default wheelies bad?

i've stood my quad up on the grab bar hundreds of times. a few while riding.

suzukiz250kid and 2000IAwarrior: the trick to wheeling far while standing on the grab bar while in first gear is to give it enough gas at the begining to get the front up, almost to the point where the quad feels like it's gonna flip and let off. give it more gas if the front starts to drop, and give it a lil brake if u feel like it's going over backwards. i can ride as long as i want (once i learn how to turn and wheelie). the main problem is that u gotta be quick to hit the gas and brake, and if u find ur balance point and get it just right, u can ride and not hit the gas or brake, u just let the idle take u. good luck!

i have an ozark and i can ride wheelies untill i flood my engine.. as for you 250ex's are the easiest to ride and get up for me.. its all about how you get it up.. i say start off with i small hill in first gear, ride to the top then roll back about 5 feet and lean forward standing up then when your ready hit the gas while you yank all of your body weight to the back.. and if i doesnt come rgiht up really fast your doing something wrong becuase 250ex's have a lot of wheelieing power..

the wheelie bars on the z400's are small and i can wheelie pretty far but i'm afraid that if i go back 2 far that the bar is just going to either snap, give out, or not catch.

if u have to, just slam on the rear brakes. u'll get thrown forward and might get a lil whiplash, but i've found that it's much better to do that, then to go over backwards in 3rd gear.
