HELP, how do you read tire size?

Default HELP, how do you read tire size?

How to you read the tire size? My rears SAY 22 X 11.00 - 8. I thought that ment 22" tall 11" tread pattern and a 8" wide rim. when I busted out the tape measure on it NONE of the numbers are even close??????????????? What is up?

i'm not positive on the 22" but i think you got that right. i'm pretty sure that the 11" is how wide the tire is. and the 8" i know is the rim size, if you measure the rim with the tire on it just go from the edge of the rim straight across and it should be 8" or real close to it.

The tire measures 21" tall ( new it was prob 22) ant the rim is 9"( I think the 8" is the bead size) But NOTHING even comes close to the 11" The tread is 9" wide??????????????????

Default HELP, how do you read tire size?

tire diameter x tire width x wheel diameter. that probably doesn't come close to 11" because you probably have a wider tire on a not as wide rim.
