there are some people around most places that can rebuild shocks, even some really good ones here and there that can do it well. I know there are a handfull of people who were trained by Elka to do service type work too.
Only thing I am pretty sure unless someone changes my mind these here will be going back to the factory, and that way I will know they were in the best hands plus I know who to yell at if theres a problem.
Then again if it was just a oil changin and gasin it up I would bring to anyone who I trusted local.

If I remember correctly it was around $100 for a basic service and $200 with minor adjustments.
Dont be afraid to act surprised if they quote you something that seems high and be sure to ask if they could do better etc. Does not all work but has in the past.
I dont know (and you may not either) what exactly they were set up for originally, and if the rider found them too harsh or soft etc. There is a chance that they were too harsh for the original set up and will work for you.
What I had thought was that why not just install them and take a ride or two and see what you have there. I wouldnt expect them to be perfect but at least you could offer some feedback to the rebuilder when you have them done.
You will be needing to supply all kinds of info about the machine and your ride style and ability as this affects how the shock should be set up so a little more info would help get them that much closer to perfect. Remember that depending on when they were originally set up and if they were for MX or trail riding there were times that the average shock was a little on the harsh or soft side too.
