Default How many miles have you gotten on your tires?

I'd like to know how many miles can be put on tires like 489's, 589's, Mudlites, etc... But I realize that a lot of people may not keep track of how many miles have been put on until worn out. So if anyone has kept track of their miles (through the life of the tire) no matter what the make is, please post it. I'm trying to compare different tires with 1+ inches of tread and less to see which tires last longer. More depth may not always be better or is it?

from my experince:

SuperSwampers 9000km (sill a little left)
Stockers are 6000km Dunflops (very bald)
ITP blackwaters 3000km ( had on 400 kvf 4x4 undriveable - maybe i had a bad set)
Mudrunners 13000-16000km (extream millage my preference- and tires still have some tread left)
ITP 589 I got 3500km and still wearing them (I would say 1/4 worn but only travel with these in snow very little dirtroad/ pavement)
Dirtdevils 5000km and 3/4 worn Alot of 2wd front tires are good back are down from spinning on gravel
mudbug 6000km They wear good and then with out notice they are toast.
Bearclaw are surpose to wear well.

Thanks for the reply. Right now I'm considering the 589's, Mudlites and Mudrunners. I'm also open to suggestions. If I'm going to pay a few hundred then I'd like them to last as long as possible. I was glad that you mentioned the mudrunners. I was wondering how they'd compare to tires with a little more tread like the 589's. I was looking at the Outlaw radials but High lifter isn't going to have them produced anymore.

the mudrunner gives you a better ride too. The the tread on both the 589 and mudrunners are both aggressive maybe a little more on the 589 (you would only see the difference in extream muddin. The 589 shine in the snow compared to the 25 mudrunners, but on trail the mudrunners are mine.

I have probably close to 2000 miles on this set of Mudrunners, and they still have a good 3/4 tread or more left. These things are wearing like iron. As for how they compare to 589's... they can easily hold their own. Two of my riding buddies have 589's, and the Mudrunners pull as hard as they do from what I've seen. I like the 589's, but like the Mudrunners better simply because of the smoother ride on hardpack. You won't be disappointed with them.

Is the tread on the front tire (26x9-12) of a mud runner the exact same as on the rear tire (26x12-12)? Sometimes the tread is different in one way or another. An example of this would be the Goodyear HP's that were stock on my Recon. I've considered buying the 589's and almost ordered some from RM. Then I noticed that they have raised the price in ads even though the new catalog list them cheaper. I ride mostly hardpack, some rock ledges, and some deep mud spots. So the mud runners are sounding better for where I ride.

The front has the same tread design as the rear, just narrower. The rear really look impressive. If you're looking for the best price on the Mudrunners, check out treadepot.com. Cheapest place I've found them.

Just a thought but was talking about this on another thread.

Basically soft compound tires "hook up" best, and hard compound tires wear best.

The trick seems to be finding the tire that fits your opinion of which of the two above are more important.
