I don't know if the ones that they sell now are turfbusters or not, but they look really close to them. We probably have put 3 sets of old Turfbusters on the rear of a couple quads. An 85 Yamaha 200 and two sets on a 89 honda 300. They are a good way to go if you don't want to spend a whole lot of money. They have pretty good traction, and are not a "bad" tire at all really. Of course there are better things out there, but this isn't made to be an expensive aftermarket tire either. We used to get the Turfbusters at SAM's because it was the cheapest way to replace worn out tires. The wide flat tread is good at giving traction to 2wd quads. I have taken the old Honda up a muddy hill easier than I could go up it on my AC 500 once. Basically, the tradeoff was the lighter weight and the wider back tires. That doesn't happen now that I have Tri-Claws, but it did happen with the old Titan 495's. It amazed me so much I had to try it another 3 times on each quad to believe it.
We wore those tires out pretty quickly back then, but I wasn't even old enough to drive, and all I ever did was drive the fourwheeler everywhere. 85% was on pavement too. (thats why we got cheap tires) They seemed to hold up pretty good. Much better than stock Dunlops I thought. Everyone was pretty cheap with tires back then though. About 1990, and I could go to four wheeler camp and see about a dozen quads, mainly honda 250's and 300's sporting the $35 Turfbusters from SAM's Club.
