Using CO2 to fill up ATV tires. Just wanted to know if this is ok to use. I see kit that use the small bb gun type co2 cartriges to fill up tires. I was thinking of bringing a 5 lb co2 cylinder with a regulator to fill tires up out in the field. I would get more air than my little compressed air tank. The only thing i heard that you should never fill up with co2 is an air mattress because it could get a hole and leak. Then you woud have no oxygen while sleeping and could never wake up again..

Yeah, it's okay to use. You should have no problem. When my brother in law bought his A.C 500 he also bought the CO2 kit like you mentioned. The one he got comes with a patch kit also. Looks like it could come in handy. Chris

Yes, co2 is ok to use. Some race cars use it because it does not expand and contract as much as regular air when the tires heat up or cool down.
