RAZR2 on back order for a month
#1
I have a race next weekend (05-08-04) and just punctured a rear side wall. I went to buy the Maxxis RAZR2 and they are on back order everywhere I tried. I thought posting in here may turn up a pair.
If you know where a pair are, please pm or email me.
Thanks

The razr 2's have a deeper tread pattern and a little bit more aggressive design then the razr...as for were to get some...All I know is that I'm getting ready to order some razr2 fronts and I can't find a place that has them in stock..Ronnies are good about stocking most of there tires and they should have some...but I just think they are a little to high for the razr2...but if you have to have them and soon then I would fork over the extra money and look at Ronnies

Thanks for the replies.
The power of the internet!
I found a few sets from riders who had them in the garage. One set was slightly used. The other, brand new. Both here in FL.
I had people read my thread from various places around the country and some re-directed me to other websites where someone was selling them.
I will buy the new set.
The tires I had to use (time constraints) were the Dunlops from a z400. They worked fine.
Then I started thinking abouty how tight the 7 mile hare scramble course was. It was so tight on my DS, I had to hook the rear tire on the cypress tree's, work the gas and feather the clutch to get the front end to PULL around to whichever way I need to turn. I had the biggest quad there. Not a good choice for that type of course. However, I wrestled it through. I only had to get off and use reverse ;-) twice.
ANyway, had I got the Razr2's, it would have been two inches WIDER! There was one spot that I had to fanegle the front tires through. Then I had to line up just right and get the rear tires to hit each tree at the same time. Then, because a cypress is a lot larger at the bottom, go up and over until I was through.
I don't think it would have been as easy with the 2's .
That course did finish with about a 1/2 mile of mx track. That was fun!
I finished a weak-- 23rd out of 50
Now I am trying to figure out different ways to narrow this beast!

One guy has them in thetampa area. The other is about an hour North of Lake Okeechobee.
I am not buying either. I will wait for them to be in stock and buy new.
If you want the info to the guys who have them for sale, email me.
