what are the best tires for a blaster
#2
jtblstr247,
Like you I ride the desert, at least in the Fall & winter when it cools off. There are several tires good for your style. I have run BanditXC's for the past two years or so up here. The Bandit isn't made in a 21" size, stock on the Blaster, however it is available in 20" & 22". The former would gear you down slightly and the latter would gear you up correspondingly.I'm entirely sold on the Bandit, specifically the XC which has a Kevlar band from bead to bead, making it extremely rigid. If you ride agressively you'd notice their ability to carve turns with little rollover or understeer. As a true 4 ply, unlike many competitive brands which are "4 ply rated" the tire is resistant to sidewall damage. I have run 20/10/9's on the rear in place of the stock 22". Pure Sport now makes a new 22" which wasn't available when I bought the last set for my Warrior.Being a harder rubber compound than some other good tires such as Razrs or Holeshots, the Bandit wears like iron yet hooks up great
