Strongest wheels?
#1
I will be buying a new set of tires and wheels for my King Quad. Since I been out of the sport for a while permit me to ask a question. Which of the aftermarket wheels are the strongest and best suited for severe utility use? Aluminum? Steel? Brands? The new "mag" types? I am mainly concerned from the standpoint of we will be 25-35 miles off road and going thru severe mud boggs and side hilling. Thank you.

mud bogs and side hilling shouldn't ruin ur wheels. but as for the strongest wheels, those would have to be the hiper-tech carbon fiber beadlocks. i don't know if they have them in sizes that would work for utility tho.

you'll be fine with most any of the newer wheels... the ITP cast wheels ( "C" series ), offer great looks, & are way more durable than I ever thought they would be... I'll admit, that I thought I'd never own a set, but after watching them get bounced off of trees, during hare swcrambles, & extreme trail riding... I now have 3 sets of type "6's"...they are more true & balanced than most any other wheel out there, the type "5's" are even tougher, than the type 6's, & they are very cost efficient...
the Hyper 12" carbon fiber bead locks, are rumored to be out in a few months & should be both very strong, & light, but very expensive...
IMO, the strongest wheels you could get, are double beadlock wheels... there are several brands available, but I like the custom Keizer double bead locks, that I currently own... the centers are 3 layers thick, & these are extremely strong, & not any heavier than most companies single bead lock wheels...

if you are doing alot of heavy off road riding, i would recommend the itp delta steel wheels, they are only 5lbs heavier than the alluminums, and are EXTREMELY strong and durable, and best of all if you hit them hard enough and manage to dent them, you can bend them right back to good as new, with allumiunum, if you hit it hard enough they just crack, and there is not reparing that....deltas are def. the best
