4x4 tire overkill?
#1
A curious question has been Bugging me, and im wondering if any other members have had similar encounters with agressive mud tires on 4x4 quads.
Please Note I am using a Prarie 400 for this comparison , but I am in no way downing Kawasaki, OR Praries.
My Neighbor has a Prarie with 25 inch Bear Claws on it..
In certain Terrain it seems the rear actually gets too Much bite not letting the front end pull as much as it should..
2 examples.
One is a Rock Ledge that from a dead stop, my
300 xplorer with smaller tires can overcome with barely any wheel spin..His Prarie can not conquer it at all, without bouncing over it..
Upon closer obsevation it becomes Evident that the front tires are just barely touching, unable to pull, because I feel excessive traction in the back.
The same scenario gets played out on Soft steep hills.. the rear tends to bury itself while the front doesnt seem to pull nearly enough.
I do not have alot of experience with agresive mud tires and was wondering if this is the Norm? Of course in deep Mud these tires do well.. But really seem to suffer out of their element..
Just a curious Question
Have Fun!
