just bought a 2000 300 ex and while the stock shocks are shocks their nothin to write home about.are the works shocks as good an upgrade as the mags say?i'm very interested but very skeptical to the tune of 700 bucks.i wish someone that uses them would convince me that their worth their price.please anybody?i really want to buy them but would like to hear some input from actual people users not mags.

I have Works triple rate shocks on my '86 250R, They were about $480.00, and they were worth every penny. I gained more travel, way more suspension action, and a lot better handling. I race MX, and the shocks are ten times better than stock. I can jump without worrying about bottoming, Go through ruts with out the quad bouncing me off, and I gained about a 6 seconds per lap. In my opinion, you can't go wrong, Go buy them.

I am very impressed with "works" shocks on my banshee...there have been alot of posts that put down the works shocks....compared to the likes of PEP and Ohlins...
I went with front triple rates w/ res and a rear ultracross w/res. I gained ground clearance up front and travel all the way around. I ride pretty aggressive and race district 3, NY. No problems yet, and they are about a year old now.
They do not appear to be bottoming...
Good luck...

I have Works Triple Rate w/res on the front of my 400EX and the difference is noticable. My friend has a 250X which is very similar to your machine and he is upgrading due to seeing the performance difference in mine, through the whoops, jumps, corners, everywhere, they are the best.
