Tires for my feet
#1
I just bought a pair of Alpinestar Tech 6's. My question is, Are they supposed to be that stiff and will the y break in enough to let me shift. I just went riding and I could barley shift, I had to move my leg really awkward.

Any boot makes it harder to shift, or move your feet for that matter. That is there purpose, to save you from breaking your ankles. My first experience with boots sounds very similar to yours. They will break in a little but not much. You will get used to it, I dont even notice them anymore, and I have only ridden with boots since this summer.

Walk around in them for a while...
I did that and it worked pretty well.
Stiff is good though.. I came off of a jump on a CR125 and got the bike sideways in the air. The bike came down on the back of my leg pushing the toes into the calf (not that far) but that was the direction.
If I would not have had those boots on I would have had a broken ankle.
