Default Mudzillas

Was considering buying a set of Maxis Mudzillas in the 27" or 28" tire for my Honda 450 es,has any one had experience with these tires & do you recomend these?,had any handling problems,or know of anything i should be aware of? Do they function as good as they look?
Thanks

they are phenominal in the mud, and snow, they steer kinda crappy, but this was on a sportsman, so bear with me. had 28" 12s in rear 28 9s in frount, ride was ok, you will most likely need a lift kit to clear the fenders....and i would re-clutch to compensate for power loss if it is a cvt auto.

to be honest i can go the exact same places, AND MORE with my vinson, there is been many times that the vinson with the 26" 589s has been towing the 28" zilla equipped sportsman.

oh and yea, dont drive behind anyone with either of these sets of tires with in 50ft in the mud, because you are going to get coated badly, also be prepared to get muddy, they throw mud everyware INCLUDEING on you.

Thanks Vinson for your insight into these tires,if i do go with them i`ll probably stay with a 26" or 27" tire to avoid the lift kit,the crappy steering is something to really consider as it would most likely be the same on my Honda.Might look into ITP Mudlites as well.

Have you had personal experience with the mudlites to know they dont stand up? If so what are we talking about 1 year? 2 ? 3 ? obviously it will depend on how many miles u ride.Im into 1200 to 1500 a year.Let me know what u think if u dont mind.
Thanks

Yea i have had mudlights and they lasted about 1 and a half years... i put on about 2500 miles a year give or take becasue i go of my buddies and i might ride more than him but the only streets i ride is about 2 miles for every 150 miles... i also ride harpacked dirt like really hard and that did allot of wear itself... the thing is mudlights yous soft soft rubber and 589's use a lot harder rubber.... so i would definatl go with mudzillas or 589's

Mudlites are not even in the same ballpark as the Zillas. The Zillas are a pure mud tire and an awesome one at that. If you want a mud tire look at the Outlaw, Zilla, Vamp, EDL Vamp. If you want a mud/somewhat trail tire look at mudbug, gator, 589, Outlaw MST/Swampwitch. If you want a stock tire replacement look at Mudlite, Bearclaw, etc.

Thanks Range Rover for your input on the Zillas, but i heard on here & two other sources that although fantastic mudders they don`t handle well in the steering department on normal trails which is mostly the riding situation that we deal with between the mud holes, will still think about it though.Out of about 15 people only 2 have negative words about the Mudlites, will decide soon & post some pics. Thanks
