I have a Honda 450s been thinking of putting a locker in. I talked to the dealer he said that I could have a problem breaking axles that I should wait till the warranty is up. What do you all think ??

The first ride I went on after putting the locker in, I believe I broke a cv joint.
Its in the shop being worked on and I dont
know exactly whats wrong with it yet. I had done some extremely hard riding(the only kind I do) before then with no problems. I run in 4x4 alot through mud and sandy creek beds. I will keep the locker unless breakage continues because I love the benefits it offers.

Hey TRICLAW!

I put a locker in my 450S and have had no problems with it at all. It is wise to wait until the warranty runs out though (it's only 6 months) because you have to disassmble the entire front end of the bike to do it!

If you're at Culloden I'll let you try it out.

Hey TRICLAW!

I know what you mean about the weather. I've been wanting to work on mine and ride some also, but it's been to darn cold and rainy (along with sleet, snow, mix). I do hope it clears for next weekend though. I also hope my 28" Vamps get here also. I'm doubtful about that though because when I ordered them (this last Tuesday) they told me 3 weeks. AAAHHHH!!! I would love to have them on when I go over to Culloden. I don't know anyone else who has them. Any ways,...I'll be there, Black Z-71 X-tra Cab, Green 450S in the back, snrokels, vamps, and all!

Retail, unfortunately!

But you won't get them cheaper. That's a fact. Only certain places can even get them. I know the dealers around here don't know about them and won't get them because they will only buy when they can order like 500 tires at a time. Right now Interco is making only 5 per day! My order is backordered for 3 weeks!

Retail is 135 right? Interco only making 5 tires per day??? To sale all over the U.S.??? Are they completely stupid?

Matt, retail on those tires is $149 each! Interco is only able to make 5 per day because of the cure time for each tire (from what I'm told). They say it takes like 1 hour to mold a tire then another hour to cure it. Something about how much rubber is used in the lugs. I agree though, I wish they could up the production line a little, but I also see their side. The need to see it's worth their while to make more. What if not many people want them? I mean, my local shops that sell Vampire tires say their Distributor won't even order any until they can order more than 500 tires! With that attitude their won't be many sold.
