26" tires on stock rims?
#1
If I do sometime end up getting a new rubicon, I can put 26 inchers on the stock rims can't I? Whats the biggest I can go? Also I climb hills, chase cattle on rough terrain, go through mud alot, and snow in the winter. What tres would be good. I was looking at the 589's or the mudlites. Any info appreciated. THanks

You can even go up to the 29.5 on the stock rims if you have the clearance. Usually anything 27" and up requires a lift kit. For the riding you do, I would stick with the 26". You'll keep most of your low end power, and still gain a little ground clearance. The 589's, and Mudlite are both excellent tires. I have Goodyear Mudrunners on my Rubi and really like them. You might look at them too. There are lots of choices out there.

I have 26" 589s on my Rubi and don't care for them personally. I feel the MudBugs on my Rancher are a more capable mud tire. With that being said, I would seriously consider looking at Vamps. They are excellent in the mud but offer a good trail ride. The Bugs do so as well. I recommend either 26s or 27s on a Rubi. They look really nice with ITP Type 6 rims. The VAmps and Bugs come in plenty of sizes to fit the stock rims however.
