suggestion of tire for honda 450
#1
I am wanting to replace the tires on my 00 450ES and was wanting some ideas. I do an average amount of mudding, also creeks, and some snow, but also quite a bit of trail riding. So I was wanting a good all around tire. Thanks in advance for the advice. Also where is the best place to get tires???

I would recommend Mud Bugs in either a 26 or 27 inch size. They're the lightest mud/all terrain tire available and they're great in mud, snow, hardpack and whatever else you throw at them. Check them out at www.maxxistires.com and see if you like their design. High Lifter sells them at a reasonable price but you may be able to find them a little cheaper. Basically they run between $75-$85 per tire depending on which size you want.

I would recommend you look at the Titan 589s. I scanned a mud tire shootout from last year and it is in the folder below. There is also a post under this topic that you can search for regarding the Titan 589 in a Mud Tire Shootout. They tested a 25-inch 589 against some other tires, some of which were 27-inch tires. They were very surprised at the perfomance of smaller tire in the test. It is worth reading. I am running 26" 589s on a Rubicon's stock wheels. They are comparable to the stock tires in ride and yet, do great in the mud. The weight is low and the cost is also. Highlifter has them and Rocky Mountain ATV does (although Rocky MTN was backordered when I purchased mine thru HL). The weights of the various sizes are listed in the post mentioned above. Hope that helps.
