Tire Chains
#3
Ever think about using a set of tires with studs in them? I know you can only go so fast with the tire chains on and studs should give you plenty of traction. Just buy a cheap set of tires for the King Quad and put studs in them.

I ride all winter and found the best set-up for ice glazed rocks, or icy surfaces in general are ITP 589's with 1 inch ice screws. The 589's have big solid lugs to hold the screws. Use screws made for ice not sheet metal screws. You don't have to load the tires up with screws, just the middle and the lugs next to the middle lug - 33 each tire.
Screws less than an inch tend to pull out one by one, especially if you have bigbore power. This set-up works great in deep snow and has taken me places I could'nt believe. I usually replace the screws a couple times during the winter as they wear down. When the ice is gone and the mud returns just zip em out and you just see a tiny mark where the screw was, the hole closes up.
The screws will scratch up black top and concrete driveways if you plow.
