Bear claws any good?
#1
I want to try a set of 27" bear claws for my brute. I would like to know how they perform in the mud. And how they compare to my current mud lite xl's. I do primarily muddin and stuff like that, any imput would be appreciated.

I have sold many sets of Bear Claw tires. I have heard no complaints from the people that bought them. However, most of these guys are using them to hunt with. They aren't out looking for the "deepest hole" they riding through ditches and creeks tracking deer and getting to the deep woods. They are a wonderful tire, but I'm not sure they are what you are looking for.

Bearclaws are bulletproof, but they're not a mud tire. They'll go through it, unless it's the consistency of cement, then they plug up. If you're going to be in the goo a lot, get a mud tire, and EDL, Mudzilla etc. Kenda makes the Executioner, which would probably suit your needs better than the Bearclaw

I'm not a seroius mudder, it's just when I see a pit i generally will try it once. And if I make it ill go through it again. But I'm not interested in like bogging or stuff like that. The mud lights vs bear claw thread everyone seemed to take the claw over the light. So I thought I would try a set. Thanks for your input.

ive got a set of 26 claws. they have done very well in all conditions. they wear well (almost 2000 miles on these) but i also have just got a set of mudlites. i havent ran them yet couldnt pass up the deal i got. 26 9 12 and 26 12 12 mounted on itp alum rims and lug nuts brand new for 375.00 !!! ill keep these for next fall. back to the claws i like to run about 2.5 to 3 psi in the rear gives it a good bite it'll go about anywhere in 2wd

I'd take the bearclaws over the Mudlights, for the simple reason that they're flat across the tread, and have sidewall lugs. May not seem like a big thing, but they get unbelievable bite if you get in ruts. They will pull the bike out of ruts easier than any other tire. I really like mine. I noticed a bit of power loss, you won't really have that problem with your Brute. The extra traction will more than make up for the weight. With the 27's, the lugs are about 1-1/8", so they have a decently deep and aggressive tread on them.
