Tire problems RANT!!
#1
I just want to VENT for a friggin minute here. I SWEAR I have the absolute worst luck with tires lately. For starters, ruined the front tire on my DS650 BEFORE the first time I got to ride it..(long story) then had a blow out on the replacement by hitting a slightly hidden manhole cover on a levee, then got multiple flats on THAT replacement tire riding up in the Mendocino mts......sigh, fortunately no problems since last year on that one.
My Outlander 330 got a nail in the left rear after about the third or fourth ride....left nail in, very, very, very slow leak.......my buddy hits a rock while riding one day, jacks up the front right tire, took about 5 plugs to keep enough air in it to keep riding the rest of the day, ended up replacing both front tires.
My brand new Rincon....second ride...FLAT, took two plugs to fix, has held since.
My brand new Saturn ION, flat tire this past Friday, fried the sidewalls....$140 to replace.
05 PT Cruiser, slow leak left front tire, after a bottle of slime seems to be holding........today noticed LEFT REAR tire very low.....aired it up, keeping an eye on it.
My 89F150, right rear tire showing cracking/weathering, had to replace it. Truck sat for a while, keep an eye on the others and keep them treated with armorall.
A few years ago it was batteries, went through four batteries between two vehicles in a little over two months.
I guess I'm going to buy a couple of gallons of slime and treat all my tires, this is just plain ridiculous. $140 for a freaking tire.............arghhhhhhhhh.

over the past year i have put new ti res on 2 trucks and the trailer
$1650 later,,,i am pretty happy,,,no more sliding thru slick intersections
already had 3 patches on the Bronco and a bad bead on one of the trailer tires
Les Schwab took care of everything,,,real patches on the holes and a new tire on the trailer.
i'm too the point where i can't stand to have tires with less than 50% tread.
Its all about safety to me,,,,especially when the family is loaded and we need to drive 600 miles pulling 8000lbs at 65mph thru the mountains.
Good luck with your tires. Are you really going to slime them all??

Well, had this last tire had slime it probably wouldn't have gone flat as I found the puncture hole, looked like a nail. Figure it can't hurt??
