Turf tires, please
#1
I am a recent purchaser of my first quad. It is a Suzuki Quadmaster 500. I use this machine for turfgrass management. The stock tires it came with are fine for pulling my 700lb aerator, but are too agressive with my 24 gallon sprayer on the back rack. The additional weight causes severe turf rip from back tires. I have searched for non aggressive tires for weeks! Everyone offers tires with mega tread, but there seems to be no market for "Turf Tires". Can I use a lawn tractor tire on atv rims if the dimensions match? My front tires are 25-8-12. Back are 25-10-12. Can't find didly and don't want to waste money on tires that don't correct my problems. Last question: Do ATV rims for different brands fit Suzuki or is that too easy? Help!

It ain't the tires, Turfdoc!
It's the rear final drive!
You need a rear differential, permitting the left and right tires to rotate at different speeds (as with an automobile). Your rear final drive has the two rear tires "spooled," they turn as one, producing unavoidable, turf-gouging, ground slip on turns, no matter what tires you use.
The solution? A rear differential!
Who has a rear differential? One and only one ATV; the Kawasaki Bayou 300 2WD--a full-up, automobile-style rear differential, plus: you may manually lock the Bayou's differential when extra traction is required and gouging turf is of no consequence.
