Default Rim Types Whats the Difference??

Lookin for some new tires, possibly new rims, Whats the difference between different types of rims. IE type 4, 5,6

And how can you fit different tire sizes on the same rim? (Width Wise) or do u have to order a 10" rim and a 10" tire??

Different types are usually just how they look. Polished, brushed, painted, style of rim etc...

You cant put a 10" tire on a 12" rim. You have to keep the same diameter but you can change width. You can use a 22x10x10 tire on a 8x10 wheel or even a 7x10 wheel. Wheels are always going to be smaller width wise than the tire.

ok thanx that helps a lot.

But i have an 06 king quad. Tire sizes 25x8-12 front and 25x10-12 rear. Is that likely that my rims are 8" and 10" rims?? B/c i would like to get some wider tires on the same rims, maybe 10" fronts and 12 rear if possible.........I guess it would differ on the type of tire i was gonna get?

This is my first experience with new tires, all my old 4 wheelers have been stock tires till the last day

Different types of wheels are different types of wheels, not finishes. Most wheel types are each availible in 2 or 3 finishes; Machined, Polished, Black

Type 4 - Our strongest, most rugged C-Series model, yet amazingly light in weight
Type 5 - Priced competitively with chrome steel wheels-this is your best value in replacement wheels, period!
Type 6 - The C-Series Type 6 is even lighter than the Type 5, Precision-trimmed wheel lip further reduces weight and adds even more attractiveness!
Type 7 - All-new, lightweight six-window design, building on all the advantages that have made our previous C-Series wheels famous.

Tire size goes like this: 25x7x12
where 25 is the tire diameter in inches
7 is the tire width in inches (this number MUST be equal to or greater than wheel width)
12 is the diameter of the wheel bead (this number MUST be matched to wheel diameter)

Such a tire would require a 12" diameter rim
Rims are labeled 12x7 where:
12 is the diameter of the wheel in inches
7 is the width of the wheel in inches

your tires are ; 25" tall ,
your front tire is 8" wide , (thats measured from the outside edge to the inside edge)
your rear tire is 10" wide (2 inches wider than the front),
your rims are 12" rims (front and rear)
these measurements are correct if your tire says 25x8-12 and 25x10-12

to double check grab a measuring tape and see if the rims are 12". both should be.

you can put whatever tire you want on the stock wheels they will all fit just make sure they dont rub and you can steer example-- 12in wide mudbug is alot narrower than a 12in wide outlaw it all depends on the tire let me know what tires your wanting ill tell you if they will fit clearance wise
