protecting my boots

I would highly suggest you have both a skid plate and cv guards if you do any kind of mudding or forest riding. Most utility 4-wheelers come with skid plates. As far as cv guards, they are worth their weight in gold. There is not really one brand better than others. Ox-lite, Cycle Country, Cabelas, they all make them and they all do the job. Spend a little extra and get Steel ones. No aluminum and definately not plastic. When you hit something be it a log, stick, or rock, remeber you have the momentum of a 600lb machine, rider and gear all pushing forward. Plastic won't survive and aluminum will bend much easier. A $40 investment now will save you $200 down the road.
