I have just put dual rate Works steelers on my bike. They are a marked improvement, but, I have one problem. When going over small whoops, when the suspension is unloaded, at full droop, there is a clunking noise. It seems like the shocks are extending fully before the suspension travel limit is reached. Anyone have experience here? Or is this just a matter of fiddling with preload? Any input would be helpful.

thats just an aftermarket shock thing..its the shock totally extending, and the springs becoming loose...you will notice the same thing if you put a block under your frame and let the a arms hang..loose springs

OK, I can understand that. Increasing the preload will not affect it? Forgive my questions, first time around with aftermarket

My works did that too. i hated it because i always and everyone else always thought that they were screwing up. Even though that i knew they weren't. In the works shocks, they dont put an over extend bumper inside the piston. That is where the economic value of them comes into play.
