Chain - O-Ring Or Non O Ring???

I have plenty of miles on all of my machines. Most of it in extremely muddy conditions. I like to put on a chain and forget about it as long as I can. Hard to do that with a cheapie. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] My CR500 could wear out a cheap chain in a matter of minutes.

funny how we can differ on opinion with such a simple thing.
I can see your point, but not a 'cheap' standard chain - same strength chain without o or x rings
only cheap compared to an o or x ring.
After I broke one particular chain and busted the chain guide boss and pushed it home leaking oil I was more concerned with breaking a chain, so I replaced chains and the sprokets regularly. It only took a few minutes while I was doing general maintenance, once a year at a fraction of the cost.
