I am looking at replacing the tires that are on my Sportsman 500 HO with either Mudlite XTR's or Swamp Lites. What would be the best for all around trial rifding and paying in some nice holes. I am looking at going with the 26's for the size. I have read mixed reviews on both of these tires and I am looking for some help to make my decision with. Any help would be great.

 

I'm in a similar boat. I know I want Swamplites but I don't know whether to get them in 26 or 27" for my 2007 sportsman 500. I'm trying to find someone who has 27's on a 500 to see how bad they hurt performance

 

I've heard better things about the swamplite as an "all-around" tire, but both are supposed to be very good. I have heard that the mudlite will wear quickly on pavement though.

 

Well after hemming and hawing I ordered 27" swamplites and a dalton clutch kit for my 07 SP500EFI. $540 for everything.

 

well i have the mudlites.. they are ok but i wish i would of got swamplites! they are much taller and i also have heard that they are a GREAT all around tire! so id go with swamp lites they increase ground clearance

 

I have 29.5 swamplites and they are the best all around tire that i have ever had. They do run bigger than they say. As far as performance issues, you may lose alittle power, but it can easily be gotten back w/ a clutch kit. I had some power loss, but after the clutch kit i have more than enough power to spin them and or break something. I dont have to get very aggressive to go places that i used to get stuck or high center w/ stock tires. I would strongly suggest the swamplites, but good luck w/ what ever you buy!!!
