CARLISLE ACT RADIAL TIRES - anyone ???
I currently have the SS106 rims with the Mudlite 26x10x12 (front) / 26x12x12 (rear) fitted on an 08 brute force 750
The PROBLEM: The tires are simply too big and i feel like it is damaging the machine. Also, it is a very rough ride. So i was considering going back to stock tires, but the main problem with that is i get a lot of snow where i am and even in 4wd the stock tires cant plow well. Secondly, id realy like to have the 26' for clearance purposes
SO, i am considering the Carlisle ACT Radial (26x8x12front/26x10x12rear).....This would be good for clearance but would it would be good for snow plowing??

Those are same exact tires as Polaris PXTs. Carlisle makes PXTs and puts the Polaris name on them. I've plowed snow with mine two winters and they worked great. Some people say the X in PXT is for Xtremely flat. I had no problems at all with the PXTs trail riding for two years and thought they were really good tires, but I got a sidewall puncture this year on my new ATV. If you search for PXT in the Polaris forum you'll get good and bad opinions about them. I think they're one of the best stock tires, but if I was getting aftermarket tires I would choose something else, like a TerraCross.

Maybe the problem isn't the tires but the size of tires. I'm sure the 12" front tires would be harder to steer than stock 8" (or 9") tires would be and could be hard on the front suspension. Perhaps going to 26x10 on the rear and 26x8 on the front, even with agressive tires may not be so bad. I'm on my second set of Swamplites and they do not seem to damage the machine. Just food for thought
